Physician
Christopher E. Doerr, D.O., earned a master’s degree in exercise physiology before beginning medical school. His ultimate goal as a physician was to utilize exercise as a therapy for many medical problems, from hypertension to obesity. Along the way, he got “sidetracked” and practiced emergency medicine for 10 years before founding Physicians Back and Neck Clinic in early 1999, concentrating specifically upon exercise-based rehabilitation of the spine. Although totally immersed in matters of the spine for the last several years, Dr. Doerr believes his non-traditional background was most fortunate, in that all areas of a patient’s life can impact or be impacted by a spinal condition.
